The last one!!!!!.........
This is the last analysis which will show you some analysis on a double page spread on a music magazine.
Double Page Spread 1
This is a double page spread form a pop music magazine which shows a popular pop artist. The first striking image on the screen is of the artist herself, which takes up one half of the page. The artist is dressed up nicely, just as someone would on a magazine and she is in a medium show, where you can just see the main artist's face and the top half of her body.
The next distinctive feature is the three columns of text which is clearly indicated by the two faded grey lines between each body of text. The main colour scheme of this page is orange, black and white which are bright colours, which is stereotypical of a pop music magazine. Everything on this genre of magazine needs to standout and grab the readers attention, drawing them in to read more of the magazine.
On the text, the orange writing connotes the questions that are being asked and the black writing is the answers to those questions, given by the artist. The orange writing is in a sans-serif font, which implies that it is a fun magazine but the black writing is in a serif fort, which shows the readers that the answers are real given by the real artist and not a fake.
The masthead is large and covers the top third of the page, which clearly shows the readers what page they are reading. The artists name is in a serif font and the main writing is in a sans serif fort, which is conforms to a pop music magazine font, which also follows the colour scheme.
As you can see here, the magazine follows a table of thirds , where the writing is in the last thirds, the top of the thirds shows the mast head and the main image shows in the left of the thirds. Finally the small image in the bottom right corner stays in that third, meaning this double page spread is layed out neatly making it easier for the readers to see.
Double Page Spread 2
Here is another magazine that shows an iconic pop icon in the world of music. The main image is located in the same place as it is in the Double Page Spread 1, which straight away shows to me that this is where all of the main images go in a pop music magazine. This also covers half of the page.
The masthead is relatively small, at the top right of the page and is in serif font. This may be difficult for some people to see what page they are reading as the mast head doesn't stand out to the readers, and isn't bold and bright as it is in any other pop music magazines.
There is a large body of text on the right of the page, which again is split into three columns. This time there isn't lines to split the columns which can make reading difficult as there isn't a visible divider. The writing is small, black and is in a serif font. The large L in the page makes some of the text difficult to read, meaning this isn't a good example to model my own music magazine on.
The table of thirds shows the same as it does in the other magazine, where there is a picture on the left of the page. The masthead is located in one of the squares, which is the top right and the text is on the right of the page.
